SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT:

Civilian Correctional Officer

The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for the position of Civilian Correctional Officer. Applications must be delivered to the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office prior to September 3, 2010 at 4pm.

Applications may be picked up at the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office at 241 7th Ave North, Clinton, Iowa or by calling (563)242-9211 ext 4510 to have an application mailed to you.  Testing will be done at a later date by invitation only.

Probationary salary is $15.05 per hour increasing to $16.73 after probation. Benefits include employer paid health plan and life insurance, 120 hours paid vacation after one year of employment. A civilian correctional officer is assigned to the Clinton County jail and is responsible for maintaining order by taking the appropriate action to ensure the safety and security of all detainees in the Clinton County Jail. Enforcement of security rules, regulations, and procedures; receiving incoming detainees; comply with booking and release orders; supervise work detail; escort detainees to and from cells for visitation, medical treatment, and court appearances, etc. Perform related duties as directed by jail supervisors.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DEPARTMENT

Director of Information Technology

Clinton County Board of Supervisors is seeking qualified applicants for the full-time, exempt position of Director of Information Technology. This position will entail responsibility for the Information Technology Department’s activities to support information technology functions for all county departments. Will work with various technologies as tools to fulfill County functions. Currently these technologies include, but are not limited to, Microsoft products, VMWare, CISCO router/switches/firewall, document imaging, and GIS implementation and maintenance. Consults, recommends, implements and supports all aspects of the County’s technology and its use by County personnel. Works with the Board of Supervisors and various committees for approval of major products and overall direction and will provide direction for all County departments’ implementation of technology. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in information technology, computer sciences or a related field in addition to three years experience working in a management or supervisory role.  Additional experience may be considered in lieu of education.


Applicant must have a valid driver’s license. Salary range of $45,000 to $59,000 with benefits. Applicants may be subject to a physical, drug test and background check.
