Shop Foreman

Serves as Shop Foreman to the County Engineer and Maintenance Superintendent, and office staff as needed. Under minimal direction, supervises shop mechanics and coordinates skilled work in the general maintenance, repair, modification and inspection of equipment in the Secondary Roads department and other county vehicles. Identify and diagnose equipment malfunctions to determine appropriate repair orders and maintain parts inventory in order to complete repairs and maintenance as necessary. The Shop Foreman will lead by example the behaviors and work ethic becoming of Clinton County.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

 

Minimum Qualifications Requirements - (Education and Experience):

Education: High School diploma or GED required. Two (2) years of formal training in heavy equipment repair OR equivalent number of years of experience performing heavy equipment repair required.

 

Work Experience:  Two (2) years of experience performing heavy equipment repair desired. Two (2) years of experience providing direct supervision of personnel performing mechanical repairs to equipment.

Work Environment:

Performs duties outdoors and is routinely exposed to varied weather conditions.  Routine exposure to chemicals, engine exhaust, noise and hazards associated with traffic.
