Radon Program
Testing for Radon
According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), radon is the first leading cause of lung cancer in nonsmokers and the second leading cause of lung cancer in smokers. Testing for radon in your home is inexpensive, easy and can save lives. Do-it-yourself test kits can be purchased through the Clinton County Health Department at 226 11th Street, DeWitt, Iowa. If you have questions about how to use your test kit, contact us at 563-659-8148.
Homeowners can pick up kits at the Clinton County Health Department:
- Short-term test kits for $9.00 each
- Long-term test kits for $35.00 each (must be preordered – call in advance)
Homeowners can request that kits be mailed to them for an additional $5.00 flat shipping rate for short term kits, and $5.00 shipping per long term kit ordered.
To request that a kit be mailed to you, download and print the order form below. Enclose the form along with a check or money order payable to the Clinton County Health Department for the cost equal to the number of test kits you are ordering. There is no additional cost besides the test kit – these prices include the postage-paid test kit, shipping, analysis of the kit(s), and a report to the end user.
If you are unable to print the order form, write or type the same information from the form on a sheet of paper and send it to the Clinton County Health Department at 226 11th Street, DeWitt, Iowa.
At this time, we are unable to take credit cards or bill after shipping.
